Disabled facilities at Middleton Park Leeds

Middleton Park Equestrian Centre caters for Disabled Riders and is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation.

Disabled children and adults are often excluded from sporting activities either because they are physically unable to take part or because they feel too disadvantaged to compete against able-bodied people. The lack of exercise and physical stimulation has debilitating effects on their health. We
provide disabled people of all ages and abilities with the opportunity for regular horse riding - giving a sense of achievement and independence.

Around 145 riders attend the Centre each week, many with profound learning difficulties, others have physical disabilities - some since birth or following accident or illness.  The Centre is totally self-supporting, and with the exception of the stable staff, everyone else is a volunteer.
