"Whether we look upon driving from the point of view of business or of pleasure, it is certain that no man who has had much of it but feels his pulse quicken, and a sense of enjoyment pervade him, when sitting behind one, two or four quick and well put together horses. Believe it or not, Carriage Driving is GREAT FUN".
So said The Duke of Beaufort in 1889. And he knew what he was on about (who's he then?).

Whatever your interest - pleasure driving or competing, singles, pairs or multiples - The British Driving Society is here to help and encourage you. Local Area Commissioners are on hand to give you guidance and the BDS has a panel of qualified instructors throughout the country and we run a proficiency test programme, which is respected world-wide as a basis for safe driving.
